Power washing patio pavers can be a great way to restore the appearance of your patio. If you have been thinking about giving your outdoor space a makeover, power washing is a quick and low-cost solution. While it may seem like an intimidating process at first, power washing is easy once you get the hang of it. Follow these steps and you’ll be enjoying your clean patio in no time!

Gather Your Supplies: Before getting started with the c, decide on which cleaning product you will use for your project, and purchase all of the necessary gear ahead of time. Make sure that you have everything that’s needed before getting started! For cleaning products, we recommend using Tris Phosphate (TSP). This cleaning agent is typically available at most home improvement stores. You’ll also need a bucket for mixing the TSP, an extension cord, water hose, pressure washer, safety glasses, face mask, and rubber gloves to protect you from any chemical splashes.

Decide on Your Patio Surface: Decide how you would like your patio to look after being cleaned before getting started with power washing. You may want to have all of the pavers cleaned – or just portions of them. It’s important to know what you’d like done before getting started so that you don’t miss any spots! Once again, making sure that you are well-prepared will help ensure that your project goes smoothly!

Power Wash Your Patio: Next, you will turn on the power washer and begin spraying a low-pressure stream of water onto your patio surfaces. Avoid going over the same area too many times as this can cause damage to the pavers. Continue spraying until all of your pavers have been covered with a thin layer of soapy water. Allow this solution to sit for about 15 minutes before turning off the power washer and checking on how it’s doing.

Drain Your Patio: The next step is to drain any excess soapy water from your patio. Use a bucket to collect any runoff, and then pour it into a nearby sink or flowerbed. This process should also be repeated periodically throughout the cleaning process as needed! Rinse: Finally, you will use the water hose to rinse your patio. Spray a high-pressure stream of water onto your pavers, and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes before draining again. Repeat this step until all areas have been power washed. Your pavers should look brighter after being rinsed, but if not, you may need to apply another cleaning round using the pressure washer.

Collect Your Supplies: Turn off your power washer, detach the hose from it, gather any stray equipment that may need to be put away at this time, and then collect any leftover chemicals or other supplies in order to throw them out. This is also a good time to take some time to admire your newly refreshed patio! Patios are an important part of the overall attractiveness of your home, so making sure that they are clean is important.
